| Job description | The PhD candidate will study the long term effects of ADAS on driving performance of older drivers with physical or mild cognitive impairments. The central question is whether the use of tailored ADAS improves the driving performance of impaired drivers or leads to more confusion and interference even in well trained elderly. This will be studied using a driving simulator and/or naturalistic driving observation. The study will be conducted in close collaboration with the University Medical Centre Groningen, and the Dutch Licensing Authority CBR. |
| Requirements | The candidate has a MSc in psychology, preferably in human factors or neuropsychology, has demonstrable experience with experimental research, including statistical analyses with SPSS, has an interest in road safety issues, and is fluent in English, both orally and in writing. Given the research population, the candidate will be expected to have an affinity with older people, and a good command of the Dutch language. Good social and communication skills are desirable. The candidate has the nationality of one of the EU Member States or a country that has a special agreement with the EU related to the EU Framework programmes (e.g. Norway, Switzerland, Australia). |
