Job description

The thesis will aim at studying the adaptation processes in response to ADAS including observable behavioural changes as well as changes in attitudes, intentions, acceptance and motivation of users.

Methods: Recording and analysis of self-reported behaviour, motive and attitude analysis, behaviour observation techniques (Wiener Fahrprobe), generation of behaviour-related problem solutions

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To perform original research, at a level suitable for a PhD, under the supervision of the project managers
  • Meetings with the supervisor on a regular basis.
  • To participate in the activities of the “ADAPTATION” Initial Training Network: attending training courses, collaboration with scientists from other sites in the network, exchange of scientific data, participating in visits to other sites
  • To take responsibility for increasing your personal knowledge of the research area in which you work
  • To write up the results of your own research and to contribute to research reports/publications, based on advice and guidance from others in the training network as appropriate within the timeframe of the project
  • To present findings of research; e.g. to prepare papers, to make presentations with guidance and advice as appropriate
  • To keep record of all activities undertaken (including the bridging of any leaves and absences)

Requirements

  • All candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English.
  • University degree in Psychology
  • Experience with applied research and affinity with the transport domain
  • Ability to take up research responsibility
  • Personal disposition to trans-national mobility

Remuneration
